In the Nursery

Ashwood Gardens newly completed nursery expansion has added over 25,000 square feet of irrigated tree, shrub and shade areas and display beds. You’ll find hundreds of varieties, from the good old standbys to the rare and unusual as well as new introductions.

Trees and shrubs

We have a great selection of shrubs and ornamentals including the twice-blooming Encore azalea, Endless Summer® everblooming hydrangeas, daphne odora, Knockout® roses, edgeworthia, Japanese maples, tree peonies and more.  

We encourage our “customers” to browse the nursery. You can choose from our selection of smaller blooming trees such as ornamental cherries, pears and apricots as well as dogwoods, redbuds, and many varieties of crepe myrtles. If it’s larger shade trees you’re looking for, we have those too. Many of our trees come in several sizes. You’ll find several species of oaks, and maples, weeping willows and ginkgo just to name a few.

If you’re looking for edible fruiting trees, not only do we have many variety of apples, but also Asian pears, peaches, cherries and pecans. We, also, carry a great selection of small fruits such as grapes, blueberries, kiwis, blackberries and raspberries.

Perennials

Here at Ashwood, we grow many of our own perennials. Choose from among our large selection of hostas, daylilies, hardy hibiscus, ferns, grasses, and peonies. You’ll also find newer selections such as the “orange meadow bright” Echinacea.

At Ashwood, our nursery buyers are always on the lookout for new sources of unique and exceptional quality plant material. If you are unable to find a particular plant at Ashwood, we will try our best to special order it for you.
